Bill McKibben - Interviewed Amy Goodman of Democracy Now

April, 2017 - 17 Minutes

To mark the 100th day of Donald Trump’s presidency, thousands of climate activists from around the country are converging in Washington, D.C. on Saturday for the People’s Climate March. Already, Trump has threatened to pull the U.S. out of the Paris climate accord, begun dismantling President Obama’s climate legacy and revived the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines. He has also put climate change deniers in charge of several key agencies, including the Environmental Protection Agency and proposed slashing the budget of the EPA and other climate programs. This comes as scientists have confirmed 2016 was the warmest year on record. Our guest is Bill McKibben, co-founder of 350.org. Watch other videos with Bill McKibben at: www.350.org .

Militarism Fuels Climate Crisis: We’re Taking Action!
Part of The Veterans For Peace 2021 Online Convention
With Marcy Winograd, Erik Edstrom, Nick Rabb, Adrienne Kinne and Gary Butterfield.

November, 2021 – 87 Minutes

The military’s contributions to climate destruction are often ignored by many climate/environmental organizations, the media, government officials, and ordinary citizens, as is the out-of-control funding of the military-industrial complex with our tax dollars. Let’s rein in the military’s climate crisis impacts by first demanding transparency in its emissions reporting and then a reduction in the Pentagon’s budget. Monies saved can then be redirected to greener projects. The Climate Crisis & Militarism Project has several educational and advocacy initiatives. Rise To The Moment! and help us spread the word to raise consciousness in and beyond the environmental and anti-war movements to oppose further militarization and avert climate catastrophe.

Professor Jem Bendell - Deep Adaptation - Scientists' Warning TV

January, 2019 - 14 Minutes

Important - This is NOT an excuse for doing nothing to alter our catastrophic trajectory. It is not a reason to abandon our values and indulge in hedonism, apathy or denial. The complexities of the future cannot be summarized meaningfully in words and images. Even if the 'collapse of civilization' is unavoidable, HOW that plays out is still very much something we can influence with our collective commitment, wisdom and actions.

Carl Sagan Testifying Before Congress in 1985 on Climate Change

1985 – 17 Minutes

Sagan testifies on how the greenhouse effect will change the global climate system and possible solutions. Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns. These shifts may be natural, such as through variations in the solar cycle. But since the 1800s, human activities have been the main driver of climate change, primarily due to burning fossil fuels like coal, oil and gas. Burning fossil fuels generates greenhouse gas emissions that act like a blanket wrapped around the Earth, trapping the sun’s heat and raising temperatures.
